With a recent focus on the devastating wildfires on the island of Maui, the app's capabilities are proving crucial in addressing the urgent need for streamlined disaster management solutions. 

Collaboration for Strength

Our dedication to collaboration is at the core of our efforts. We are grateful for the support of our partners at American Red Cross, Islamic Relief, The Salvation Army, and UMCOR in deploying the app in disaster zones across the nation. Currently, we're working diligently to implement the Kare Survivor Wallet app on Maui, ensuring that the community is better equipped to tackle challenges head-on and emerge stronger than ever before.

Private Sector Backing Our Vision

Strategic partnerships from Amazon and Home Depot, global leaders in retail, are a testament to the groundbreaking nature of our work. Our collaboration with Amazon Business, Disaster Relief Team, and the Amazon Disaster Relief Fund is resulting in a compelling video. This video will showcase our joint response to the Maui fires and will be unveiled during September's National Preparedness Month—a platform to highlight our efforts on a national scale. Home Depot has partnered with DSC to provide critical repair/rebuild materials and home appliances for disaster survivors with last mile delivery. Additionally, we are grateful for the incredible support from AID:Tech, the Algorand Foundation, Highnote, and Visa.

In the aftermath of the devastating Maui Fires, the Disaster Services Corporation (DSC) remains steadfast in its commitment to bringing hope to affected communities. Leveraging cutting-edge technology and collaborative partnerships, we're providing critical financial support to disaster survivors through the Kare App's innovative debit card feature.

Maui Fund: Collaborative Approach

Recognizing the strength of unity, DSC is working closely with National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (National VOAD) members and local partners. Together, we're establishing a comprehensive fund aimed at assisting disaster survivors. This fund embodies the essence of collaboration and collective impact, pooling resources and expertise to extend a compassionate hand to those in need.

Beacon of Hope: Technology's Role

The Kare App's debit card feature represents a transformative shift in disaster relief. Its seamless interface empowers survivors to access funds swiftly and conveniently, alleviating the financial burdens during their journey to recovery. This technology seamlessly aligns with DSC's commitment to providing efficient and effective assistance to disaster-affected communities.

  • Fund Establishment: Collaborating with National VOAD members to create a dedicated fund directly benefiting Maui disaster survivors.
