Our Mission

The mission of the Disaster Services Corporation is to model the charism of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul by providing quality programs and services to families and communities impacted by natural and manmade disasters across this great nation.

Our Vision

Our vision is a self-sustaining corporation which guides and directs Vincentians to provide person to person emergency assistance and support services to victims of natural and manmade disasters.

Working Collectively

How can your Council / Isolated Conference coordinate efforts with other agencies to support efficiencies and achieve greater community impact for families?

How will your Council / Isolated Conference address racial, economic, and health inequalities and disparities that limit families from accessing health, education, and financial stability?

Eligibility

  • Must confirm status as a nonprofit under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
  • Must provide the most recent nearest month-end P&L statement
  • Must provide the most recent nearest month-end balance sheet 

Application Guide

The proposed program must align with the Disaster Services Corporation, SVDP-USA's mission, vision, and racial equity statement.

Proposals must demonstrate that the services to be provided are tailored to meet the needs of the identified population supported by SVDP-USA and the Disaster Services Corporation, SVDP-USA.

Application Instructions

Prospective candidates must hold active membership in the National Society of St. Vincent de Paul, USA, and be affiliated with a corresponding Council/Conference that maintains good standing with the National Council. It is important to emphasize that individuals who are not Vincentians or members of the National Society of St. Vincent de Paul are not eligible to seek grants through this application process. The grants are allocated to local Conferences/Councils, and subsequently, these funds are disbursed to the local community affected by disasters based on the decisions made by the members.

All 2023/2024 Applicants are required to create an account by clicking on the First Time Users button below. You will then receive an email from Disaster Services Corporation (check your spam folders) to set a password and assess the Grant Application. Keep your username and password handy so that you can "save a draft" and return to complete your submission (note: you must click 'save draft' at the bottom of the page in order to save; the form will not 'auto-save').  A sample PDF of the application can be accessed here.

Also, this username and password will continue to be used for Council / Isolated Conference reporting and future applications

Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Applications submitted by non-Vincentians will also not be accepted.  Do not leave any blanks; enter N/A if not applicable.
