I started volunteering in disaster response when I was 16 years old, after hurricane Katrina, I spent a week in D'Iberville, MS and it changed my life. After that I would travel with my church mission group every year to support a community with whatever they needed. We did everything from demolishing old structures and building new, to working food pantries and building temporary shelters for volunteers. I have responded to hurricane, tornado and flood damage in Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky and Mississippi. In college I coordinated our youth groups so that they could also travel with our mission and have an adult to supervise and guide them. I studied Emergency Management and Disaster Response as a BS through Trine University, and I found myself in retail management traveling throughout the Midwest opening new stores. St Vincent de Paul found me in November of 2025 to make an impact to our community thrift stores, and I've been General Manager in Sheboygan County, WI ever since, where I live with my husband.
