The House in a Box™ Program is a nationally recognized disaster recovery program developed by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul following Hurricane Katrina. The program offers hope to families forced into situational poverty by natural disasters, providing them with new furniture and furnishings. Through a referral process, families are referred to the program, ensuring efficient and equitable assistance without redundancy.
The House in a Box™ initiative restores dignity to families in crisis, offering them a fresh start with standardized new items. Our delivery team handles last mile delivery, carefully taking everything off the pallet and bringing it to the first floor of the home. This scalable program, starting at $3,600 for a family of four, empowers families to rebuild their lives.
